Doodlebob and the Magic Pencil is a Fangame created by TechnoSuperguy, who created Techno the Hedgehog, as a late birthdayearly christmas present for his brother Megaboy. It was created in 2008 using an early version of the engine for Techno: The Gamma Project, but was not released until 2010.
Plankton has harnessed the power of the Magic Pencil, creating an army of doodle minions and brainwashing SpongeBob's friends with four corrupted Special Doodles. In retaliation, SpongeBob revives his old nemesis, DoodleBob, who has now reformed. With the Magic Pencil as his only weapon, it's up to DoodleBob to stop Plan Z Version 186 and save SpongeBob's friends!
I made this game as a Christmas present for my little brother in 2008, and now I'm finally releasing it to the public. All the graphics (except for the Magic Pencil itself) are homemade, and the music is taken from various Capcom, Sega, and Nintendo games. Keep an eye out for all the Mega Man parodies I tossed in!
The game is pretty easy to beat, but it's fun to use the Magic Pencil to defeat your enemies in different ways! Use your imagination! 😁

The facility will explode in 60 seconds! Your only chance of escape is to collect upgrades that give you the abilities needed to reach the exit; however, the upgrades are scattered about the facility, and you can't possibly collect them all in time. Luckily, you also have the power of time travel on your side! Collect as many upgrades as you can, then go back in time to where you began while maintaining your upgrades. You can only revert 4 times, so escaping will be a test of both your skill and memory.
This is a Metroidvania created in roughly 30 hours for the 38th Game Jam on GM48.net. Despite having played a relatively small role in its actual development, I'm proud to have been involved in this one. This was a big departure from my usual graphics style, in that there are no solid outlines; I was trying to imitate games like Flashback and Another World.
